How to make fish fry Indian style
- Scale and clean fish and make cuts on it diagonally to absorb the marinade we will be applying
- Now add grind ginger, chilli powder, coriander, turmeric, vinegar and salt together making it into a paste
- Apply the paste on the fish and let it marinate for anywhere between 5 mins (minimum) to 25 mins if you got more time on your hands.
- To get a crispy finish that makes it nice and crunchy on the outside, you can coat the fish with some semolina after applying marinade to the fish.
- Heat oil in a shallow pan and fry the fish pieces till they turn light brown in colour. Darker brown for a crispy finish.
This can be enjoyed by itself with some beer or a scotch as a starter. It also make a good add on to rice or veg meal.
[ This is also a very good recipe if you dont like bony fishes – as this recipe can be used to make a fish extra crispy by frying it to a crisp, so that you can also eat the thin bones when fried to a crisp finish.]
